EXCLUSIVE: Tennis fans were delighted with a huge discount on wine at the venue, which a waitress says continues today, but the All England Club has said the mistake will soon be fixed11:41, 30 Jun 2026Updated 12:12, 30 Jun 2026Glasses of wine are being sold at a heavy discount to Wimbledon fans after a printing error involving prices. One restaurant menu at the All England Club wrongly listed 250ml glasses of Piquepoul/Terret Blanc, exported from France, at a bargain price of £6.95, as well as Thirsty Birds Chardonnay, at the same price.‌A patron who visited the Centenary Brasserie, which overlooks court 11 and serves premium food, including whole monkfish tail, on Monday, told the Mirror: "They tried to charge us £15.95 for the wine. I told them it was listed at £6.95. The waitress said it had been an issue all day with the menu, which also didn't even have the starters listed. They removed it off the bill after taking ages."‌‌Commenting on the bungle at 10am on Tuesday, Wimbledon's Operations Manager Michelle Dite told the Mirror she was confident the prices would be fixed today. But two hours later a worker said bosses had decided to stick with the discounted prices again on Tuesday as they don't have new menus and the issue takes too long to explain to customers. The staff member said: “The prices should be around £14 for a big glass, but it takes too much time to explain to people. We think we’re getting new menus tomorrow.”Another worker said the wines received a mixed reception from diners, despite the drastic savings on offer, saying some didn't mind paying extra. However, they admitted many tournament goers were keen to cash in on the cheaper drinks, adding: “I probably had quite a lot of people asking for it.”‌Operations Manager Michelle Dite had earlier told us: "We're all about marginal gains here, overnight to fix bits and pieces for the next day, so well spotted! Everyday there's a couple of little things. We pride ourselves on detail, so I'm sure there are some people who have been working hard on it, based on the feedback, to correct those. We've got multiple outlets, so there's always something that people are picking up on. I'm sure it'll be fixed for today."Dite spoke out on day two of this year's Wimbledon Championships, where Brit Katie Boulter today launched her campaign against Italian Tyra Grant on Court number three. Her Australian fiance, Alex De Minaur, is set to play immediately after her on the same court. Tennis legend Serena Williams will also today return to Wimbledon to play in the ladies singles, nearly four years after retiring from the sport.‌British fans are hoping for an improvement on Monday's opening day, when ten Brits crashed out of the tournament and none made it through to round two.
