The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Doha announced that preparations for negotiations between Tehran and Washington in Qatar have not yet begun and that it has not received any official notification regarding such a meeting so far.

According to ISNA, the Embassy of the Islamic Republic issued a brief statement on Monday evening, June 29, which was published by Russia’s RIA Novosti news agency, stating: “Preparations for this meeting have not yet begun, and we have received no official information in this regard up to this point.”

This statement was released just hours after US President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social that the Islamic Republic had requested a meeting and that it was scheduled to take place on Tuesday in Doha.

Concurrently, Kazem Gharibabadi, the Islamic Republic’s senior negotiator, also rejected reports regarding the holding of technical working-group talks in Doha.

He stated that consultations with Qatar, including follow-ups on the implementation of the other party’s commitments, are continuing as a matter of routine, but reports by certain media outlets about technical talks being held in Doha have not been confirmed.
