President Donald Trump on Monday bragged that his Great American State Fair in Washington, D.C. was “packed with happy people,” while Fox News claimed there’s a “wash of people” and “thousands” as the network broadcasted from a mostly empty field. “That is so sad,” MS NOW host Jacob Soboroff said as he rolled footage of Fox News trying to spin the event. He found an image he said “really captures the problem” more than the Fox News crew did. That photo, posted by an event organizer, shows a singer on stage with a guitar player next to her in sunglasses. “If you zoom in, let’s do it, on the guitarist’s sunglasses you can see a crowd of less than a dozen people in the reflection,” he said as the camera moved in to show the reflection. That image was deleted and replaced with one where the sunglasses are cropped out, he noted. Soboroff also found another problem with reflections. Specifically, the Reflecting Pool, which Trump spent more than $14 million in taxpayer funds renovating only for the new bottom to start peeling off as an algae bloom turned the waters green. Trump has blamed vandals, and over the weekend insisted that “the criminally made algae is gone.” But Soboroff took a visit to the pool and found it “remains a very, very, very algae green.” Check it out below:
