The next stop for the global juggernaut for a PLE will be one of their big four events, SummerSlam 2026. It will be a two-night extravaganza on August 1 and 2 at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. One of the main events for the card will see former Shield members Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins clash for the World Heavyweight Championship.Will former Shield member Dean Ambrose return to aid Seth Rollins against Roman Reigns at WWE SummerSlam 2026?Of course, The Shield did not have only two top stars but three: Dean Ambrose. Much like Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, Ambrose achieved remarkable success in WWE as a top singles star; however, not on the same level as his cohorts. Moreover, creative frustrations and his spot in the company led him to leave WWE in 2019 and join rival promotion, AEW, under the ring name, Jon Moxley. The former WWE Champion is still part of the promotion and is reigning as one of their top attractions. Therefore, it is next to impossible for a potential appearance at SummerSlam, which would mean that Rollins would have to go it alone against Reigns and his Bloodline, who are likely to interfere.Who can aid Seth Rollins if not Dean Ambrose?While it is likely that The Bloodline will attempt to help Roman Reigns in his match against Seth Rollins, The Visionary has made some allies in recent months who could even the odds. One of them is Bloodline's current foe, LA Knight, who has been involved in a feud with The Usos lately. Another one could be former Bloodline member, Solo Sikoa, who has been aiding Knight against his own brothers, The Usos, on RAW over the last few weeks. Lastly, Rollins closely worked with The Street Profits during his feud with The Vision and they could assist him to remove the Bloodline's threat, so that he and Reigns could have a one-on-one fair fight.When did Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins last happen in WWE?The last time Roman Reigns squared off against Seth Rollins in a huge title match was at the 2022 Royal Rumble Premium Live Event. The match was contested for Reigns' Universal title and ended in a DQ win for Rollins after the OTC attacked him with a chair. Fast-forward to 2025, and the duo met in the main event of WrestleMania 41, also involving CM Punk. However, at SummerSlam, it will be a huge singles match with the World title on the line.
