Chinese President Xi Jinping meets with Bangladeshi Prime Minister Tarique Rahman in Beijing, China, June 26, 2026.
Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Bangladeshi Prime Minister Tarique Rahman in Beijing on Friday, with the two leaders announcing the building of a China-Bangladesh community with a shared future in the new era to advance bilateral relations to a higher level.
Xi said China has always attached great importance to developing relations with Bangladesh and has consistently pursued a policy of good-neighbourliness and friendship towards the Bangladeshi people.
Regardless of changes in the international landscape, China will remain committed to the overall direction of China-Bangladesh friendship and will always be Bangladesh's trustworthy friend, good neighbour and reliable partner, Xi said.
Noting that this year marks the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Xi said that throughout its history, the CPC has united and led the Chinese people in successfully forging a Chinese path to modernisation from a poor and weak starting point by upholding independence and self-reliance and firmly keeping the nation's development in its own hands.
