Keystone Bank Limited has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting social inclusion, as the bank recently partnered with the Akwa Ibom State Government and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to distribute wheelchairs and walking aid devices to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The initiative also featured a three-day capacity-building programme for PWDs who are local clinicians and artisans.
In a statement issued on Monday, the lender said the initiative is designed to strengthen access to mobility support services while building local capacity to provide sustainable assistance for persons with disabilities.
“Participants received hands-on training in the assembly, fitting, repair, maintenance, and adaptation of wheelchairs and other mobility aids, equipping them with the skills required to provide effective and personalised support within their communities,” the bank said.
Commenting on the initiative, Izore Lami-Bamawo, group head, Corporate Communications, Keystone Bank, reaffirmed the lender’s commitment to initiatives that create lasting social impact.
