The Automotive Industry Development Centre (AIDC) has been announced as the anchor tenant at the City of Johannesburg’s new Alexandra Automotive Hub (AAH).
The city’s Department of Economic Development describes the AAH as “a catalytic project” aimed at strengthening the township’s automotive economy, by supporting small businesses and creating sustainable employment opportunities in the auto sector for local communities.
Developed by the Joburg Development Agency and the Joburg Property Company, the hub forms part of the city’s goal to revitalise township economies.
The official public launch of the AAH will take place in October.
