Delhi District Courts, in coordination with the Delhi Traffic Police, will begin functioning of Weekend Traffic Courts across the Capital from July 5 to expedite disposal of pending compoundable traffic challans. A total of 22 benches will operate across seven district court complexes to clear pending notices currently lying before the Virtual Court system. Each bench will hear up to 700 compoundable challans per sitting. To ensure equitable access, a single vehicle may have up to 20 eligible challans taken up for disposal through this mechanism. The courts will function on the second Saturday and all Sundays of each month. Citizens will be able to download their challans from June 25 through the Delhi Traffic Police portal: https://traffic.delhipolice.gov.in/evecourtddc. The downloaded notices must be presented before the designated courts between 10 am and 1 pm, and 2 pm and 4 pm, for disposal in accordance with due legal procedure.
