Shares in Taipei closed higher yesterday on a mild technical rebound, while turnover shrank as many investors remained wary of possible volatility ahead.The TAIEX closed up 428.14 points, or 0.96 percent, at 44,999.90, after plunging 1,683.50 points, or 3.64 percent, on Friday last week. Friday’s point loss was the third-highest on record, Taiwan Stock Exchange Corp (TWSE, 台灣證交所) data showed.Turnover on the main board totaled NT$997.51 billion (US$30.99 billion) yesterday, down from an average of NT$1.55 trillion in the previous five sessions, TWSE data showed.
