Speaking at the U.S.-Nigeria Faith Heroes Award Gala organised by the Save Nigeria Group in Washington, D.C., on June 23, Adeboye argued that Tinubu had discharged his constitutional responsibility by issuing directives to the nation's security agencies.

Addressing concerns over the escalating wave of terrorism, kidnappings, and violent attacks across the country, Adeboye said critics expecting the president to physically lead military operations were being unrealistic.
