Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold is facing more jail time at a pre-trial detention hearing in Tampa, Florida.Prosecutors are not yet arguing Arnold's guilt for charges of robbery and kidnapping at the hearing. They are instead arguing that Arnold's crimes are serious enough that he should be denied bond and that the cornerback should be kept in jail until his trial at a later date."Arnold is accused of coordinating and directing … codefendants to lure three men to an apartment where the victims were robbed, beaten, and held at gunpoint," the Florida state attorney's office in Hillsborough County announced in a press release on Wednesday, June 24.Arnold is charged with three counts of kidnapping, three counts of armed robbery, one count of conspiracy to kidnap and one count of conspiracy to commit armed robbery in the wake of the incident, which happened in February. He faces a potential sentence of life in prison.According to the release, Arnold initially reported to the Largo Police Department that he had been a victim of theft – $200,000 in "personal items" allegedly was stolen from an Airbnb that the Lions' cornerback owned. Arnold allegedly began orchestrating his retaliation with others within hours of giving his theft report to the police, according to an investigation cited in the press release from the state attorney's office.Arnold voluntarily surrendered to authorities in Florida on June 24 and has remained in custody without bond ahead of his pre-trial hearing on June 29. He has denied involvement in the robbery and kidnapping incident since February, when his name first appeared in court files related to the case in Tampa."Terrion Arnold categorically denies any involvement in the matters underlying the allegations made against him and maintains his innocence," said Denise White, CEO of EAG Sports Management, in a statement to USA TODAY Sports on June 24. "There is no credible evidence linking Mr. Arnold to these allegations. Instead, the government appears to be relying on testimony from multiple convicted felons who have admitted their own involvement and may have substantial incentives to shift blame in an effort to lessen their sentences."Mr. Arnold looks forward to his day in court and is confident that the judicial process will lead to his ultimate vindication."Terrion Arnold pre-trial hearingArnold's pre-trial hearing is available to watch via livestream on YouTube.
