First Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit payment to hit accounts this week. Here’s what to expect

The latest quarterly instalment of the newly renamed GST/HST credit is expected to hit Canadians’ accounts later this week.

Now known as the “Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit” (CGEB), the tax-free quarterly payment is sent out to individuals and families “with low and modest incomes to help manage the rising costs of everyday essentials.”
