Mehdi Fazaeli, a member of the office for the preservation and publication of the Supreme Leader’s works, announced that the Islamic Republic did not participate in the planned technical negotiations with the United States and that the talks have been canceled.

Speaking to state TV (Seda-va-Sima) on Sunday evening, Fazaeli stated that technical negotiations were originally scheduled to take place today. However, Iran withdrew from the meeting due to the military clashes that occurred over the past few nights. According to Fazaeli, another reason for the decision was Tehran’s requirement for clarity regarding the implementation of certain conditions by the opposing side, including securing access to and withdrawal capabilities for Iran’s frozen assets.

Simultaneously, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing informed sources, that negotiations between the United States and the Islamic Republic, which were scheduled to resume over the weekend in Switzerland, have been postponed following the escalation of tensions and the resumption of reciprocal attacks between the two sides.

According to the report, the surge in military clashes over recent days has created obstacles to the diplomatic process.
