A consistent theme of the many ways KPMG has mishandled its audit leaks scandal has been its failure to understand just how much shit it is in. Another firm catching senator Deborah O’Neill’s eye for underestimating the gravity of the situation is Macquarie.In early April, the senator wrote to executives at the three companies at the centre of the whistleblower allegations of misconduct and unethical behaviour within KPMG’s audit division.
