Angus Chung Yik-lai and Tycoon Resources will look to maintain their unbeaten record together when starting at Sha Tin for the first time in Wednesday’s Class Three Better Future Handicap (1,200m).
The Tony Cruz-trained galloper proved last start that a step up to 1,200m was no issue when securing a dominant win over Refusetobeenglish by one and a half lengths, making it three from three.
While Chung is confident in Tycoon Resources’ ability over the trip, the change of track will prove a test for the lightly raced three-year-old.
“The change of track, I think it would be a challenge for him. He’s never raced at Sha Tin and it’s a longer straight, and the ground will be a little bit harder for him. Hopefully he’s not too keen in the race and behind the barriers,” Chung said.
“He’s a horse who is very easily upset, easy to get nervous. Hopefully from Happy Valley to Sha Tin he can calm down.”
