Anthropic is reportedly working with the US on a policy framework to deal with similar situations in the future.

The US government has partially reversed an export ban on Anthropic’s Mythos 5, allowing the company to release the powerful cybersecurity AI model to more than 100 select institutions, including government agencies.

In a letter to Anthropic on Friday (26 June), US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick determined that the company had “appropriate safeguards” in place to repermit Claude Mythos access to certain trusted partners.

“Anthropic has worked with the US government to address risks associated with the covered models,” Lutnick said. “These efforts have yielded significant progress.”
