The General Manager of the Samoa Airport Authority (SAA), Faaofonuu Tumanuvao Evile Falefatu, has shared what appears to be artificial intelligence (AI)-generated images of a proposed Asau International Airport on social media.

The images, posted on Facebook, show an airport layout featuring a runway and multiple aircraft.

Two large aircraft and four smaller aircraft are shown near the runway. However, the runway appears relatively small compared to the size of the aircraft.

The Faleolo International Airport has a runway of about 3,000 metres, which is long enough to support a Boeing 737 aircraft. The runway shown in the images appears shorter than that.

In his post, Tumanuvao said, “Every generation is entrusted with defining projects that transform a nation. For our generation, Asau Airport is one of those defining projects.”
