Don Toliver took the BET 2026 Awards and viewers to his high-tech world with an energetic performance of his melodic track “E85.” His debut on the annual awards program’s main stage featured a live guitarist amplifying the atmospheric vibe of the flirtatious song. Aired with a black-and-white effect, the 32-year-old opted for an all-white outfit, complete with a heavy platinum chain with a dangling, decorated cross and platform boots.
With a smile and sway, the Texas-bred melodic rapper stood center stage as the performance transitioned into the party-ready “Body.” A troupe of dancers in all- white costuming, complete with hair and face coverings, joined the stage as the chart-topper commanded the mic from an elevated platform. Theatrical smoke added to the aesthetic of their sleek eight counts.
“Body” and “E85” are both featured on Toliver’s latest album, Octane, released earlier this year, which features Yeat, Rema, Travis Scott, Teezo Touchdown, and SahBabii.
“The inspiration behind the title is another phrase for more fuel consumption,” he described to VIBE. “It’s really what it is. I came with Hardstone Psycho about two years ago, and I love the energy and everything. I just love the intensity of how I went about it [the album], everything I did, and all the energy that was around it. So, it’s just basically more fuel consumption. It’s really the basis of octane.”
