MANILA, Philippines – New economic zones may soon be allowed again in Metro Manila after the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) endorsed the lifting of a Duterte-era policy that had barred the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (Peza) from accrediting new ecozones in the capital region.

Trade Secretary Cristina Roque said she and Finance Secretary Frederick Go had already approved the lifting of Administrative Order (AO) No. 18, with the proposal now endorsed for President Marcos’ approval.
