Credit: Olivier FitoussiThe Israeli cabinet unanimously approved a proposal to officially recognize the Armenian genocide by Turkey on Sunday.According to the announcement, the decision will now be brought for approval in the Knesset. Announcing the cabinet approval, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar said: "It is never too late to do the right thing."Remarking on the approval, Sa'ar said: "Despite the extensive and unambiguous historical documentation, the Armenian Genocide remains to this day the subject of an institutionalized campaign of denial and minimization, including a manipulative rewriting of history, mainly by the Turkish government. It is widely believed that the Ottoman Empire committed crimes amounting to genocide in a systematic manner, with the aim of destroying the Armenian people," he said.It's never too late to do the right thing.
