During the evacuation of civilians following a Russian airstrike, Roman Komarov, a police officer from the Kharkiv region, was killed, and his colleague was wounded.
The Kharkiv Regional Police reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.
"On June 28, Russian troops carried out an airstrike using four guided bombs on the outskirts of the village of Kyrylivka in the Chuhuiv District of Kharkiv region. While evacuating civilians, officers from Police Department No. 1 of the Chuhuiv District Police Administration of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kharkiv region, who were in a police vehicle, came under enemy fire," the statement reads.
It is noted that during the airstrike, Roman Komarov, a community police officer in the Community Engagement Sector of Police Department No. 1 of the Chuhuiv District Police Department, was killed instantly. His injuries were fatal. An inspector from the Juvenile Prevention Sector also sustained serious injuries. The police officer was hospitalized in the intensive care unit.
