Cairo, June 28 (EFE).- Fourteen Saudi nationals were killed on Sunday when a helicopter operated by state oil giant Saudi Aramco crashed near Ras Tanura on Saudi Arabia’s eastern coast, according to the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA). Quoting a Saudi Energy Ministry official, SPA said the helicopter crashed at about 6:00 a.m. local time (0300 GMT) in Ras Tanura, home to the world’s largest offshore oil-loading terminal and one of Saudi Arabia’s largest oil refineries. All 14 people on board were killed, the official said. The ministry said an investigation had been launched in coordination with the relevant authorities to determine the cause of the crash. It did not disclose the purpose of the flight. Saudi Aramco had not commented on the accident at the time of publication. Earlier this year, the Ras Tanura refinery was temporarily shut down following Iranian drone and missile attacks on the energy facility. According to media reports, Aramco resumed crude oil shipments from the terminal just two days ago after a disruption of nearly four months. EFE ar-ijm-sk
