Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar on Sunday alleged that the people of Amaravati had foiled the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP)’s attempt to create unrest during the visit of its leaders on Saturday and demonstrated that they were no longer willing to tolerate what he described as disruptive politics. In a press release, Mr. Ravi Kumar said the government would not tolerate unlawful activities carried out under the guise of politics and that maintaining law and order remained its top priority. He alleged that the YSRCP had failed to develop any of the three cities it had proposed as capitals, claiming that the three-capitals policy was driven by political considerations. He also accused the previous government of stalling the development of Amaravati, which, he said, had adversely affected the State’s overall growth. The Minister further alleged that, after losing power, the YSRCP had sought to create confusion among the public through shifting narratives and political theatrics instead of adopting a consistent stand on issues concerning the State. Such actions, he claimed, were aimed at misleading the public rather than contributing to development.Reiterating the coalition government’s commitment to development, public order and democratic values, Mr. Ravi Kumar said any attempt to disturb peace in the name of politics would be dealt with firmly in accordance with the law.
