Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) leader and Chidambaram MP Thol. Thirumavalavan on Sunday said there was nothing wrong in the appointment of film producer Tamil Nadu’s Special Representative in New Delhi as Tamil Nadu’s Special Representative in New Delhi.Mr. Thirumavalavan told presspersons here that Mr. Narayana was a trusted person of Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay. Hence, he had made the appointment. Though it was a government post, he felt it was not an important one to take decisions on day-to-day administration. “No one will be affected with the appointment,” he said.To a question, the VCK chief said his party was for total closure of Tasmac liquor outlets. It was to press this demand his party conducted a conference against alcohol and drug trafficking during the erstwhile DMK government. The government led by Mr. Vijay was slowly closing the Tasmac outlets at the thickly populated areas. Alcohol and drug trafficking was a national issue. A policy framework should be found at the national level with the involvement of the Union and the State governments against drug trafficking, he said.The release of White Paper on the financial health of the State government and the electricity sector was a welcome step.
