The Dredging Corporation of India Limited (DCIL) successfully concluded a three-day recruitment drive, the ‘Rozgar Mela’, at its head office her in Visakhapatnam, according to a release issued on Sunday.Organised by the company’s Human Resources Department from June 23 to June 25, the mega employment drive drew over 500 candidates from various parts of the country competing for positions across different categories.The initiative aligns with the Government of India’s ongoing nationwide ‘Rozgar Mela’ mission, aimed at boosting employment opportunities. The drive was backed by Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal and Minister of State Shantanu Thakur.DCIL, India’s premier dredging organisation, is jointly owned by a consortium of four major port authorities under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW).The event was conducted under the guidance of Jasmeet Singh Bindra, Chairman, DCIL, and Capt. S. Divakar, Managing Director and CEO.“The overwhelming response to this recruitment drive reflects the growing confidence of India’s youth in the maritime sector and in DCIL,” Mr. Bindra said. He added that the organisation remains committed to nurturing skilled maritime professionals in line with the Union government’s vision for job creation.Capt. Divakar stated that the high turnout highlighted the abundant talent pool available to support the country’s maritime growth. “DCIL will continue to organise similar recruitment drives throughout the year to build a competent, future-ready workforce,” he said.
