Ukrainian Defense Forces have struck and damaged a strategic railway bridge in the Russian-occupied Luhansk region, further complicating logistical operations for Russian forces in eastern Ukraine. On Sunday, June 28, the Telegram channel “Exilenova+” published photographs revealing extensive damage to a railway bridge located in the occupied village of Sabivka. According to the report accompanying the images, the structure was targeted by Ukrainian forces two days earlier, on June 26.JOIN US ON TELEGRAMFollow our coverage of the war on the @Kyivpost_official. The Sabivka bridge is considered a critical node in the region’s transport infrastructure. “It plays an important role in railway logistics between the temporarily occupied areas of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions,” the channel’s description noted.
A broader campaign against Russian logistics The strike on the Sabivka bridge is part of an intensified, systematic campaign by Ukrainian forces to isolate Russian troops by severing their primary supply lines and logistical arteries across occupied territories. The Luhansk operation follows a string of strikes executed by Ukrainian Special Operations Forces (SSO) and other military branches against key infrastructure in southern Ukraine and the occupied Crimean Peninsula earlier in the week. On June 23, the SSO reported the complete destruction of the railway bridge over the North Crimean Canal near the village of Rozdolne. The SSO noted that the bridge served as a “strategic military-logistical artery” used to transport cargo, resources, and military equipment both from Russia into southern Ukraine and within the peninsula itself.
