Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Ummulkhairi Usman Aliyu in Maraban Jos, assuring them that everyone involved in her killing would be brought to justice.
The governor, who met with the deceased’s husband, Malam Aliyu, and other family members, expressed his heartfelt sympathy and prayed for the repose of Ummulkhairi’s soul, while asking Almighty Allah to grant the bereaved family the strength and patience to bear the loss.
Speaking during the visit, Governor Sani reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring justice is served, stressing that security agencies were pursuing every available lead to apprehend all those involved in the crime.“I want to assure the family that those responsible for this heinous act will be identified, arrested and prosecuted. No one connected with this tragic incident will escape the full weight of the law,” the governor said.
He disclosed that 41 suspects have already been arraigned for culpable homicide, while another 30 suspects have been charged with unlawful assembly.According to him, 17 persons who were not found culpable have been released, while 41 others remain under investigation as security agencies intensify efforts to arrest additional suspects still at large.
