The previous mark of 2.29m was established by Tejaswin Shankar in 2018.Kushare attempted 2.35m after setting the record but was unsuccessful."I was feeling good. I got a big boost when I cleared 2.27m. Thereafter, I pushed and made an attempt to break the national record," Kushare said. He cleared the record height on his third attempt.Meet records fall in 1500m and 400m hurdlesThe championships also witnessed new meet records in other events. Uttar Pradesh's Yoonus Shah erased Bahadur Prasad's men's 1500m meet record of 3:40.10 by clocking 3:37.55.Yashas P improved the men's 400m hurdles meet record with a winning time of 49.14 seconds, bettering his previous record of 49.37 seconds.Several medal winners also achieved the qualification mark for the Japan Asian Games in their respective events.
