Ukrainian journalist Iryna Levchenko, who was unlawfully detained in occupied Melitopol, has been transferred from Simferopol to a pre-trial detention center in Russia’s Krasnodar region.

According to Ukrinform, the information was reported by the Institute of Mass Information on Facebook.

Levchenko’s sister, Olena Rudenko, said the journalist and other prisoners had been moved from occupied Crimea overnight. They were transported in an overcrowded prison van without air conditioning.

Upon arrival in Krasnodar, detainees found that the detention facility had no electricity or running water. Levchenko is currently being held in a cell with five other women.

Family members say her court hearing scheduled for July is likely to take place in Krasnodar. Russia has not officially disclosed the charges against her, but relatives say she is being accused of “terrorism.”
