The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, disclosed the development in a statement issued on Saturday on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Naziru Abdulmajid.
Operatives of the Borno State Police Command have intercepted a large consignment of illicit substances allegedly being transported for onward smuggling across Nigeria's international borders, arresting one suspect in the process.
The command disclosed that the operation, carried out by its X-Squad operatives on Friday, led to the recovery of 55 sacks containing numerous 60ml bottles of an illicit substance popularly known as "Gumm."

According to the statement, the breakthrough was recorded as part of the command's sustained campaign against drug trafficking and other criminal activities across the state.
