The MOMUS – Museum of Contemporary Art in Thessaloniki is hosting the work of artist and activist Maria Karavela (1938 – 2012), active during the Greek dictatorship in the 1970s. Thanks to the donation of a large part of her archive for the 9th Thessaloniki Biennale, her work is presented for the first time on a large scale, visible in its entirety. The exhibition includes photos of emblematic performances and installations she made in Paris, while her photos of her performance Kokkinia (1979) are shown at the TIF-HELEXPO.
