Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed reaffirmed the UAE's "unwavering support for Lebanon's unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity" during a call with Lebanon's prime minister.

A framework peace agreement between Lebanon and Israel was signed following days of negotiations in Washington, brokered with US support.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun credited the US for facilitating a deal aimed at ensuring "no occupation, no captives, no subservience."

Israel said it would maintain a security zone within Lebanon's "yellow line" borders until Hezbollah and other armed groups were disarmed.
