TVTV NewsRod StewartSir Rod Stewart's memorable Glastonbury 2025 performance is now being shown again by the BBC09:46, 27 Jun 2026Music icon Sir Rod Stewart was part of the line-up at Glastonbury 2025.But don't worry if you missed his performance last summer as it's being repeated again by the BBC alongside other features on the world famous festival while it takes a break for 2026.Rod reportedly required medical intervention in order to take to the stage at the Glastonbury Festival in June 2025 following a battle with flu, which had forced him to cancel shows in the build up to the gig.He had confessed doctors had ordered him to rest writing on Instagram : "My doctor ordered a bit more rest while I recover from the flu. Thanks for your love and understanding."However, it was reported at the time that he needed more than rest and his wife Penny Lancaster, 55, took the music legend, now 81, to a London throat specialist in advance of his first appearance at the festival in 23 years.According to Radar Online, Rod had to undergo voice coaching, hot and cold steaming, and strict voice rest following the examination. The Maggie May singer's voice only returned two days before the performance, reported the Express at the time."He was never been so ill in his life. (But) it all turned around and he was on top of the world," Penny later said according to the publication.She is also said to have told her husband of 17-years: "You have to visualise yourself being on stage and manifest this whole experience, because it's going to happen."The chart-topping icon went on to take to the stage in the Legends slot of the festival last summer. His teenage sons Alastair and Aiden, daughters Ruby and Renee and their partners joined him at Worthy Farm for the show.Despite his decades of experience performing in front of massive crowds Penny told the gossip website Rod was nervous prior to taking to the stage.But she was reported as saying the atmosphere backstage was "electric" and revealed Rod's pre-stage ritual involved a quick stint on an exercise bike to loosen his legs and a glass of Bacardi and Coke "for a little kickstart"."I could tell by his face he was nervous.
