Obi, who warned that the country's key institutions are being systematically weakened for political interests, said that those destroying Nigeria's democratic institutions will fail.
The presidential candidate of the National Democratic Coalition (NDC) for the 2027 general elections, Peter Obi, has described the court judgment nullifying the registration of the party as a major blow to Nigeria's democracy.
Obi, who warned that the country's key institutions are being systematically weakened for political interests, said that those destroying Nigeria's democratic institutions will fail.
SaharaReporters earlier reported that Justice Isah Dashen of the Federal High Court in Lokoja, Kogi State, set aside the court’s earlier judgment which had compelled the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register the NDC as a political party.
The latest ruling followed an application filed by an association known as the Peace Movement Party (PMP), which argued that it had sought registration with the same “victory sign” symbol as far back as 2015.
