New Delhi: The Indian Army on Friday dispatched a specialised medical contingent to earthquake-ravaged Venezuela, along with medical equipment and humanitarian relief supplies. The team from 60 Para Field Hospital departed from Hindon Air Force Station onboard two C 17 aircraft of the air force.The contingent comprises 41 personnel, including nine medical officers, and is equipped to provide emergency medical care, trauma management, life-saving surgical support and other essential healthcare services to those affected by the earthquake, said officials.Read more: Death toll from Venezuela earthquakes rises to 920, says congress presidentIn addition, six tonnes of medical stores and humanitarian relief supplies provided by the external affairs ministry, as well as a BHISHM Cube (Bharat Health Initiative for Sahyog, Hita & Maitri), are being airlifted under India's Aarogya Maitri Project.
