The Edo State Government, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Edo State Command, and other stakeholders on Friday called for innovative responses to address the growing challenge of drug trafficking and abuse.
The position was unanimously adopted by stakeholders who gathered at the Festival Hall, Government House, Benin City, to commemorate the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on Friday.

This year’s theme, “The World Drug Problem: Persisting Issues, New Challenges, Innovative Responses,” resonated throughout the event as speakers emphasised the critical need for innovative and collaborative approaches to tackling drug trafficking and abuse in the state and across the country.
The Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, reiterated his commitment to establishing zero tolerance for drug trafficking in the state.
