Cape Town residents have been urged to prepare for severe winter weather and cold front warnings this weekend.
The City of Cape Town's Disaster Risk Management Centre is urging residents to prepare for severe winter weather after the South African Weather Service issued multiple weather warnings ahead of a cold front expected to make landfall on Sunday, June 28.
The weather service has issued a Yellow Level 4 warning for disruptive rain, with widespread showers and rain forecast across the western and south-western parts of the Western Cape. The rainfall is expected to spread eastwards on Sunday evening and continue into Monday.
Families lost homes, roads were flooded, farms damaged, and many residents left without food, clean water, electricity in the recent May storm.
