The Venezuela Solidarity Campaign in Nigeria (VSCN) has expressed deep sorrow over the devastating twin earthquakes that struck Venezuela’s northern coast, describing the disaster as a humanitarian tragedy that requires urgent international support.
In a statement issued on Friday by its Coordinator, Dimeji Macaulay, the group extended its condolences to the people and government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela following the catastrophic earthquakes, which reportedly claimed at least 589 lives.
According to the statement, more than 2,980 people have also been injured, while many others remain displaced, trapped, or in urgent need of rescue, medical treatment, shelter, and other humanitarian assistance.
