MOSCOW, June 26. /TASS/. Russia’s former defense minister and ex-special representative of the head of state Sergey Ivanov has died at the age of 73, the VTB United League, in which he served as honorary president, said.
"Sergey Borisovich was there from the beginning of the VTB United League and made a key contribution to the formation and development of the tournament," it said in a statement.
"Thanks to his initiative, support and attention to basketball, the league has become a key Russian sports initiative, bringing together leading clubs and giving a new impetus to the development of the game."
