President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that 160 Ukrainian servicemembers, all of whom had been held in Russian captivity since 2022, had been released.
He shared the news on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
"We continue bringing Ukrainians home from Russian captivity. Today, 160 servicemembers were released from captivity. All of them had been held captive since 2022," Zelensky wrote.
The President said those released include personnel from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the State Special Transport Service, the National Guard, and the State Border Guard Service. They defended Ukraine in Mariupol and on the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy fronts.
