East of Sumy, the occupiers are trying to expand their zone of control, but Ukrainian forces are defending the settlements.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported on television by Viktor Tregubov, a spokesperson for the Joint Forces Task Force.
In the Sumy sector, he said, the occupiers are attempting to expand their zone of control east of Sumy, but Ukrainian forces are holding the settlements.
Tregubov added that in the Vovchansk, or Southern Slobozhanshchyna, sector, the situation remains stable—Russian troops are still unable to establish control over the city.
“If we consider our area of control, the Lyman sector remains the most critical. Russian forces are very actively trying to advance there. In our area of responsibility, the number of combat engagements is, in principle, comparable to all other sectors combined. If we consider the area from Sumy, through the entire Kharkiv and Luhansk regions, all the way to Lyman, the number of clashes in Lyman accounts for roughly the same share as in all other areas combined,” said the Joint Forces Task Force spokesperson.
