A 92-year-old man thrown out of his unit during a Toronto heat wave last summer is asking for more than $34,000 in compensation for a “bad faith” eviction, after the fourplex was put up for sale — listed as an “incredible cash flowing opportunity.”
Isidoro Ventullo filed an application called a T5 with Ontario’s Landlord and Tenant Board on June 1, arguing he was evicted in July 2025 because he was only paying $800 monthly rent in a high-demand area and was vulnerable as an older tenant — and not because his landlord’s son needed the unit for himself, as the landlord asserted.
