Five women and a boy died in the attack, with many more hurt.‌The incident lasted just over a minute and was carried out with a rented BMW X3, which reached speeds of up to 30mph during the rampage. The 51-year-old was found by the court to carry "particularly serious" guilt, according to German news agency dpa.‌His sentence means he will not be eligible for release after 15 years as is usually the case in Germany. Investigators said al-Abdulmohsen was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.‌They added that he seemingly acted out of dissatisfaction with the outcome of a legal dispute and th4 failure of various criminal complaints. The defendant also planned his attack without accomplices.Officials said the suspect does not fit the usual profile of perpetrators of extremist attacks. The defendant described himself as an ex-Muslim who was highly critical of Islam and on social media expressed support for the far-right.Although al-Abdulmohsen was not known to have committed any violence, he had previously come to authorities' attention for threatening behaviour.
