Private schools are forking out upwards of $200,000 a year to ramp up defences against an onslaught of cyberattacks, in what has become a daily battle to prevent damaging hacks and protect parents’ and students’ personal data from nefarious actors.
Global insurance broker Aon’s independent school risk survey of 306 private and religious institutions found cyberattacks remained the number one risk facing the sector, above the pressures of teacher retention, staff and student mental health, and legislative and regulatory changes.
