In our Money Secrets series, we ask people to confess their furtive money-related secrets which they are hiding from loved ones or that people do not know the full extent about.

Today, we speak to Joanne, a mum who has been despairing at her teenager daughter’s food fads. She says she has drawn the line at paying for expensive bottled water when you can get perfectly good water from a tap.

When she was a baby, my daughter was a dream when it came to food and drink. She always polished off her bottles of milk and when she began eating food, she would try everything, finishing off anything I fed her with enjoyment.

Other parents would look on enviously when she gobbled down all her food. She had a very varied, balanced diet, while some of their children were incredibly fussy eaters who would cry and scream at mealtimes.

Unfortunately, everything changed when my daughter hit her teenage years. She started developing a strong mind of her own – something that I encourage and am very proud of in most respects of life.
