Australia played out a goalless draw with Paraguay on Thursday but that was enough for the Socceroos to secure a spot in the knockout stage of the World Cup.Paraguay will have to wait and see if they advance as one of the eight best third-placed teams.Australia advanced as runners-up in Group D and will find out who they will face in the round of 32 when Group G – comprising Egypt, Iran, Belgium and New Zealand – concludes on Friday.“Unbelievable. Now we go to Dallas and we will try to do something special,” coach Tony Popovic said.The Socceroos dominated the game but had only two shots on target.“The one at the end was the first time I really looked at the clock and thought ‘please just blow the whistle.’ But overall we deserved it, we were very good today, wonderful performance,” Popovic added.
