Kolisi Foundation launches month-long fundraiser for child nutrition SPRINGBOK captain Siya Kolisi showing his football skills as he shares some words which should serve as inspiration for Bafana Bafana at the Fifa World Cup.
The Springboks have built their success on a drive to outwork any team they face and maintain an intensity that eventually overwhelms opponents.
That same drive and fighting spirit were on display in the Bafana Bafana side on Thursday morning in Monterrey, Mexico as they beat South Korea 1-0 to claim a historic victory at the 2026 Fifa World Cup, booking their place in the knockout rounds for the first time ever.
The last time South Africa appeared at the tournament, in 2010 as hosts, they were unable to progress beyond the group stages despite a memorable victory over France. 16 years later, they have turned those fortunes around, and a clash against co-hosts Canada in Los Angeles now awaits on Sunday evening (9pm).
The same grit, intensity and determination will be needed if they are to pull off another upset and secure a place in the Round of 16.
