MANILA, Philippines — The Japanese Embassy in Manila on Thursday clarified that temporary visitor visas for Filipinos remain free despite Japan’s planned increase in visa fees for foreign nationals.

The clarification came after the Japanese government announced that single-entry visa fees would rise from 3,000 yen to 15,000 yen starting in July.

“Please note that Temporary Visitor Visa (for stay within 90 days at maximum) for Philippine Nationals remains as gratis,” the embassy said in an advisory.
