The incidents occurred during two separate Watford under-21 matches in October and November last year, involving comments about the player's ethnicity and a 'corner shop' remark. Dwomoh initially denied the allegations and attempted to pressure the victim to retract his statement before eventually admitting to the charges. Watford self-reported the abuse and supported the FA's disciplinary action, having made Dwomoh unavailable for selection once the incident came to light. In addition to the ban, which is backdated to April when he left the club, Dwomoh was fined £2,500 and ordered to complete a compulsory face-to-face education programme.
