Grindr's been peeving off its customers, and other dating apps are starting to take note. Since its "AI era" announcement and the introduction of an astronomically priced premium tier, Grindr's competitors have stepped up to the plate to give people what they want: hookups, now. Squirt, a cruising site that's been around since 1999 BG (Before Grindr), launched its first iOS app (SQ Dating) in April, and now it's adding new features to encourage you to download the app and check out the site, including a revamped "Video Chat" experience and a "New Guys" grid.
According to a press release shared with Mashable, "Video Chat" has been rebuilt for a "smoother, faster, and more reliable 1:1 experience." It's easier to jump between the web and mobile app; you can also switch between your front and rear cameras and receive incoming call notifications (no matter what page you're on) across both platforms.
